3.1.1 AC DRIVE LINE UP 1 The AC Drive Line Up 1 shall receive its 690 V supply through Bus Duct from Star winding of the Double Secondry of 7.5 MVA Dual Secondary Transformer 1. The Drive panel shall have an Incomer 4000 Amps ACB EDO with S/C & O/C release with CTs, Ammeter with ASS, Voltmeter with VSS & Indicating Lights with Diode Converter. The DC Bus shall have a Common DBU with a DBR to limit the increase in DC Bus level in case of sudden reduction in load and over speeding of motors. The regenrating energy will go into the resistance for a short time. The Panel shall have Aluminium Bus Bar of Suitable capacity overrunning the Panel to feed the AC Drives as per following Details : | |||

Cascade control of the mill stands

The PLC of the automation system shall calculate speeds for each main stand motor according to the stored data of rolling schedule after the operator chooses Product size & kind. Then the microcomputer shall send each motor speed signal to the respective drive control systems for these motors. It is also acceptable that the speed reference calculations are done at drive and the necessary data transfer for such function is ensured. |
The system shall have facility to update or modify the stored rolling schedule. |
Main stand motor cascade control can be adjusted and adjustment shall take place UP STREAM from the selected key stand. Last working stand is the key stand for cascade control of the working mill stand motors. |
Mill motor drive controllers shall be compensated in case of impact load to avoid impact speed drop. |
Bar tracking and mill sequence controls Pinch

Hot Metal Detectors (HMD) are to be installed in the mill for tracking the hot bar. A list of envisaged HMDs is attached herewith. However, any additional HMD is required to ensure trouble free and proper operation of the mill, the same shall be included in scope of supply. Necessary correction for the material tracking shall be done by the automation system using HMDs. Also flickering of HMDs shall be taken care to avoid any mal operation. |
