The PTA mainly serves as a forum for discussing school-learnerrelated problems and their solutions while ensuring parents/guardians’ full cooperation in efficiently implementing the school programs. The collaborative effort and involvement among PTA members have resulted in favorable impact on learners and school programs designed for them. In relation to Section 11.6.2 hereof, the School PTA Board of Directors (BOD) may adopt its own by-laws to provide additional guidelines on the operation and organization of the School PTA: Provided that, such by-laws are not inconsistent with existing laws, these guidelines, and other relevant DepEd issuances on the matter.
Pangunahing nagsisilbi ang PTA bilang isang forum para sa pagtalakay sa mga problemang may kinalaman sa paaralan at mga solusyon sa mga ito habang tinitiyak ang buong kooperasyon ng mga magulang/tagapag-alaga sa mahusay na pagpapatupad ng mga programa sa paaralan. 7.1 Homeroom PTA (HPTA). This is the PTA organized at the classroom level. The HPTA shall be composed of all parent/guardian-members and homeroom advisers. Subject to Sections 5.1, 8.2, 10 and 14 hereof, the HPTA shall elect from among its parent/guardian-members the following set of officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, and other positions it may deem necessary by a majority vote of those present during the election. The HPTA may meet as often its members find it necessary to discuss activities, issues, and concerns in the homeroom for the learners, teachers, and school. The HPTA officers shall exercise similar functions stated under Sections 11.6.3.4 and 11.7 accordingly over their respective homerooms.
7.1 Homeroom PTA (HPTA). Ito ang PTA na inorganisa sa antas ng silid-aralan. Ang HPTA ay dapat bubuuin ng lahat ng magulang/tagapag-alaga-miyembro at tagapayo sa homeroom. 7.2 Grade Level PTA (GrPTA). This is the PTA organized in each grade level, which shall be composed of all parent/guardian-members and teacher-members of a particular grade level. There is hereby created a GrPTA Council of Representatives (GrPTA-CoR) in each grade level composed of all Presidents of the HPTA of such grade level. The GrPTA-CoR shall elect from its members, a Grade Level Representative who shall represent their respective grade levels in School PTA activities. A permanent alternate shall also be elected per grade level to act as the representative in the absence of the GrPTA Representatives. The GrPTA-CoR may meet as often its members find it necessary to discuss activities, issues, and concerns in the grade level for the learners, teachers, and school.
7.2 Grade Level PTA (GrPTA). Ito ang PTA na inorganisa sa bawat antas ng baitang, na bubuuin ng lahat ng magulang/tagapag-alaga-miyembro at guro-miyembro ng isang partikular na antas ng baitang. Sa pamamagitan nito, nilikha ang GrPTA Council of Representatives (GrPTA-CoR) sa bawat antas ng grado na binubuo ng lahat ng Pangulo ng HPTA ng naturang antas ng grado. 7.3 School PTA (SPTA). Formerly known as the General PTA, this is the PTA organized at the school level composed of all parent/guardian-members and teacher-members of a school.

Other members of the community may be invited or consulted (e.g., local government officials, civic organizations, and school-based learner organizations) to solicit their support or active participation in school activities.

7.3.2 SPTA-BOD. There is hereby created an SPTA-BOD, which shall be composed of all duly elected GrPTA representatives and teacher-representatives to the BOD consistent with Section 11.2 hereof and whose duties and responsibilities shall be those as enumerated in Section 11.6.1 hereof.

7.3.2.2 SPTA Executive Committee (EXECOM) Officers. In relation to the preceding section, the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and Secretary shall also serve as the concurrent President, Vice-President, and Secretary of the SPTA-EXECOM, respectively. Furthermore, the BOD shall appoint a Collection and Disbursing Officer from among its members present during the election. In case of integrated schools, additional officers (e.g., Business Manager, and Auditor) may be appointed from among the SPTA members through a board resolution, as it may deem necessary or as may be provided by its by-laws.
7.3.2.2 Mga Opisyal ng SPTA Executive Committee (EXECOM). Kaugnay ng naunang seksyon, ang Tagapangulo, Pangalawang Tagapangulo, at Kalihim ay magsisilbi rin bilang kasabay na Pangulo, Pangalawang Pangulo, at Kalihim ng SPTA-EXECOM, ayon sa pagkakabanggit. 8.1 Membership in a PTA shall be limited to parents, or in their absence, the guardians of duly enrolled learners, as well as teaching and non-teaching personnel in a basic education school, whether public or private.

8.2 Consistent with the last paragraph of Section 5.1 hereof, guardians of learners who are legally appointed as such by a competent court may also hold a position in the Homeroom, Grade Level, School PTAs and/or Federated PTAs.

8.3 A teacher-member elected as a member of the BOD shall not be elected as an officer, except as a Secretary of the SPTA. The school head shall only serve as adviser to the SPTA.

8.4 A teacher-member with a child enrolled in the school where he/she is assigned may only participate in HPTA, GrPTA, and SPTA-BOD as a parent/guardian-member and may not be elected as Officer except as Secretary of the HPTA. In case such teacher-member has a child in another school, he/she may be elected to any position in the HPTA except as a President, VicePresident, or Treasurer.
8.4 Ang isang guro-miyembro na may anak na naka-enroll sa paaralan kung saan siya nakatalaga ay maaari lamang lumahok sa HPTA, GrPTA, at SPTA-BOD bilang miyembro ng magulang/tagapag-alaga at hindi maaaring mahalal bilang Opisyal maliban bilang Kalihim ng HPTA. Kung sakaling ang nasabing guro-miyembro ay may anak sa ibang paaralan, siya ay maaaring mahalal sa anumang posisyon sa HPTA maliban bilang isang Pangulo, Pangalawang Pangulo, o Ingat-yaman.
