Treaty
of

The
Proclamation
of
1763
Forbid
the
colonists
to
go
past
the
Appalachian
Mountains.
England
didn’t
want
to
fight
wars
with
the
Native
Americans
over
land.
The
whole
point
of
having
colonies
is
to
make
money
and
wars
cost
money
!

Sugar
Act
A
tax
on
imported
Sugar
to
help
pay
off
the
costs
of
the
French
and
Indian
War.
This
is
the
FIRST
tax
on
the
colonies
by
the
British
Parliament
and
gave
British
officials
more
power
in
the
colonies!

Stamp
Act
This
act
required
colonists
to
pay
for
stamps
on
certain
goods.
Colonists
protested
the
act
and
the
British
repealed
it.

Boston
Massacre
The
British
shot
and
killed
several
people
who
were
part
of
a
mob
throwing
stones/sticks
at
the
soldiers.
Several
colonists
were
killed,
including
Crispus
Attucks
.
It
was
called
“The
Boston
Massacre”
and
was
used
by
colonists
to
begin
to
unite
the
colonies
against
England.

Townshend
Acts
The
tax
was
to
help
raise
money
to
pay
for
salaries
of
royal
governors
and
judges
in
the
colonies.
Colonists
were
afraid
this
would
take
away
their
self
rule.

Tea
Act
This
was
part
of
the
Townshend
acts
and
gave
the
British
East
India
Company
a
monopoly
on
selling
tea
to
the
colonies.
This
act
leads
to
the
Boston
Tea
Party.
