A newbie's journey to $30,000 a month in a year.

AWC Budapest
Hi everyone, I am a newbie in affiliate marketing and here on the STM forum. I've been reading a lot of information on this forum, and now it is time to take action and launch my first-ever lead gen/affiliate campaign. I will keep updating here weekly to keep myself accountable.

The reasons for picking this offer:
  • The offer is mass-appealing; it can be run 24/7, which means I do not need to do day-parting for my ads.
  • It accepts US nationwide traffic.
  • The payout is pay-per-lead (form fill), at $11 CPA. The payout is low, which means it takes a lower budget to test.
There are 2 versions of the same offer available:
  • Prepop version
  • Non-prepop version
My concern with the non-prepop version is that, based on the information on this forum, direct linking a tracking link to Facebook ads isn’t ideal. If another affiliate gets flagged, I will get affected. So, I think I may need to use a cloaking method, or I will use a chatbot to prequalify and collect data such as name, email, phone number, and zip code, which I can use to promote other offers in the future, and then pre-pop those details into the offer page.

To maximize the profitability in the longer term, I think the prepop version of the offer is better. That means I can build my own landing page or chatbot to collect data for future promotion. Prepop might have a better conversion rate. However, I am still figuring out the tech side of things for prepop.

My Planned Strategy:

The traffic source will be Facebook ads. The testing framework will follow as below:
  • 2 audiences, 2 angles for each audience, 3 ads for each angle. Each audience will be allocated to one campaign; each angle will be in one ad set.
  • For my testing budget, I will do 1.5x the payout for each ad set, which is $16.5 per day per ad set.
  • For testing campaigns I will use ABO.

Tech Stacks:
  • Chatbot: Landbot
  • Tracker: Binom
Phases:
  • Phase 1: Due Diligence (Done)
  • Phase 2: Research (Done)
  • Phase 3: Copy and Creatives Creation + Funnel + Tech Setup (Working On It)
  • Phase 4: Launch Testing Campaign
  • Phase 5: ?
  • Phase 6: ?

Goals for my affiliate marketing journey:
  1. Launch my first affiliate campaign.
  2. $100 per week
  3. $100 per day
  4. $500 per week
  5. $500 per day
  6. $1000 per week
  7. $1000 per day
  8. $30,000 per month
Any feedback on my thought process and strategies is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey man :)

Absolutely love the structure and the clear goalsetting.

As a newbie myself whos just getting into FB Ads now, having previously run pop/push with way smaller payouts etc. - I really admire your structure and will to make it with a - in my opinion - high payout offer like this to start out with.

All the best, i'll be following ✌️

Weekly Update (2/17/2024)

Here’s an update on my progress:

For the past week, I’ve been focusing on researching and creating creatives. I used the Facebook Ad Library and AdSpy to find inspiration for my creatives.

I planned to use 2 image ads and 1 UGC video for my testing for each audience. I’ve created 2 image ads myself based on the inspiration I found from spying.

I’ve placed an order for the UGC video today, which will take around 4 days to be delivered.

Besides this, I’ve gathered some information about testing and optimization from this forum and other sources online. I’ve put together this Optimization Decision Tree for my later use.

Based on the info online, I’ve set some KPIs/benchmarks for this lead gen campaign. I set up the KPIs in different scenarios based on the profit margin.

While waiting for the UGC to be done, my next step will be creating the chatbot funnel.

Have a look at make.com instead of Zapier. It should be able to do segmentation like Zapier, and is around 10 times cheaper. You won't have to switch after 2-3 months when scaling.

Good luck!

Thanks for the recommendation! I will be using Make.com instead of Zapier.

Weekly Update (2/26/2024):

I have received all my creatives and set up the draft campaigns following the structure mentioned above.

Before I can officially launch the actual lead generation campaigns, I need to warm up my new business manager and ad account.

Here's the account warm-up procedure I will follow:

- Create a new fan page and design a professional-looking profile picture and banner. Then, publish 5 posts.

- Every day, I will publish 3 posts (video/images/content).

- Run Engagement campaigns for 3-5 days.

- Get my new ad account to spend $25 to unlock 4 more ad accounts.

- Acquire 5,000 followers from the likes campaign:

Run a likes campaign for 3-5 days at $20 per day on a new account.
Target third-world countries such as India, Pakistan, Turkey, South Africa, Thailand, the Philippines, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Bangladesh, Kenya, Egypt.

- Run post-engagement campaigns to get shares, likes, and comments.

For next week, the main focus will be on the account warming up procedure.

Great job, brother! I'm new to paid ads for affiliate marketing myself. Last year I made around $100k just using organic traffic, and now I'm looking to try out ads to make even more money. That's why I joined this Super Aff community, to learn from the pros. I guess you could say I'm still a rookie, but I'm eager to learn. Good luck, and I'll be keeping an eye on your posts!

$100K on just organic ... so pretty much all profit? Nice.

Update 3/1/2024:

I received a notification stating that my ad account has been suspended.

This is surprising, as I haven’t even launched my actual lead generation ads yet. The account is still in the warm-up process, and this happened.

I suspect it might just be a system glitch.

I will reach out to support and see if I can get the account reactivated.
