Frequently Asked Questions
Slack AI can only be purchased for your entire workspace. Once you decide to buy Slack AI, all members can start using it right away. Learn more about getting started with Slack AI in our Help Center.
Billing for Slack AI add-on will follow a similar structure to your plan type. Teams will be billed for all active members in a workspace on a price per user basis. Billing terms will be aligned with plan terms, billed on a monthly or annual basis. Additionally, everyone in your workspace will have unlimited use with the purchase of the Slack AI add-on.
Currently, there is no option to experience a free trial of Slack AI features for teams on Pro or Business+.
Unfortunately, no. Slack is built for teams, so you’ll get the most out of paid slack when you all use it together. To upgrade Slack, you’ll need to upgrade your entire workspace at once.
You can use your credit card to pay for any plan. If you sign up for an annual subscription, you may be eligible to be invoiced annually. Visit the help center or contact us to start the process.
We’ll make a prorated charge to your credit card to cover your new team member’s account for the remainder of the current billing period.
As an example, suppose your team is on the Pro plan, which costs ¥1,050 per active user per month when billed monthly. You add a new team member 10 days into your billing period and there are 20 remaining days in the month. The per-day cost for each user is ¥1,050 / 30, so we will make a one-time charge of ¥700 (¥1,050 / 30 days * 20 days) to your team’s credit card on file.
While we don’t offer refunds, there are two options for how Workspace Owners can change the subscription level from a paid plan to the free version of Slack:
- You can downgrade to the free version immediately. If your renewal date is more than a day away, we’ll prorate the remaining balance on your account and hold it for your team as a credit. You can use that credit towards a reactivation of your paid subscription in the future.
- We can automatically downgrade you to the Free plan at your next renewal date. Your subscription will remain active at its current level through the end of the billing period that you’ve already paid for.
Depending on your location, you can pay for Slack in British pounds, euros, Indian rupees, Japanese yen or US dollars. Learn more about your currency options.
Certain US states and international countries are subject to a required sales or consumption tax. If your subscription includes sales tax, VAT, GST, or comparable consumption taxes, you will see the amount applied on the checkout page when making a purchase.
