In this chapter,we address the central issue of the design of compensators.

Compromise and adjustment is in general inevitable in practice!

We have seen that adjust the system parameters can provide the desired system response.However,it is not sufficient.That is,sometimes we must examine the scheme or plan of the system and obtain a new design or plan that results in a suitable system.This is called compensation. 

compensation is the adjustment of a system in order to 

make up for deficiencies or inadequacies.
